MINEYE Project
The MINEYE (Earth Observation techniques for MINe lifE cYclE monitoring using ML-based data fusion approaches) project aims to strengthen the EU’s autonomy in provision of primary and secondary raw materials, while also reducing environmental impacts from mining activities.
A consortium of 13 European partners is developing an innovative, cost-effective and multidisciplinary approach using Earth Observation (EO) technologies for the entire mining value chain.

The European Sustainable Mining & Innovation Network (ESMIN) is a collaborative initiative bringing together EU-funded projects focused on improving sustainability, efficiency, and responsibility in the entire mining lifecycle. From mineral exploration and resource management to environmental monitoring and post-mining rehabilitation, ESMIN fosters cooperation between research institutions, industry stakeholders, and policymakers to advance innovative and responsible mining practices in Europe. Bringing together 11 pioneering initiatives – MASTERMINE, DigiEcoQuarry, illuMINEation, SUMEX, ROBOMINERS, Dig_IT, ROTATE, DINAMINE, SCIMIN-CRM, TERRAVISION, and of course MINEYE – the Digi-RAW Projects’ Cluster was created to strengthen impact, streamline research efforts, foster innovation, and build lasting partnerships across the sector. United by shared goals, the cluster serves as a collaborative knowledge hub where partners exchange insights, align expertise, and work towards common objectives. The cluster supports more efficient research, broader dissemination of project results, and the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for the raw materials sector. Read more.
