MINEYE showcased at IMGC 2025: Advancing Sustainable Mining Through Innovation

MINEYE was prominently represented at the International Multidisciplinary Geo-Science Conference – IMGC 2025, “Future Mining: Critical Minerals, the Circular Economy, and Sustainable Development”, held at the University of Mitrovica in Kosovo from 16–17 October 2025.

Sara Kasmaeeyazdi (University of Bologna), invited as a speaker, delivered a compelling talk titled “Mining Wastes or Mining Resources? From Environmental Liabilities to Economic Opportunities.” and Irfan Ullah (University of Bologna), presented his submitted paper, “An Investigation into the Effectiveness of Sentinel-2 in Lithological Identification Through Remote Sensing Techniques.”

Both presentations attracted strong attention from the Balkan mining community and highlighted the relevance of MINEYE’s innovative contributions to sustainable and data-driven mining practices.

The two-day conference covered a wide range of multidisciplinary topics, including: (1) Geology – Exploring New Possibilities in Earth Science, (2) GeoInformatics – Cutting-Edge Technologies in Earth Data Management, (3) Sustainable Mining Management – Environmental Impact and Policy Solutions, (4) Materials Science and Metallurgy – Innovations for a Sustainable Future, (5) Water Resources and Environmental Sustainability – Challenges and Solutions, (6) Waste Management & Recycling – Innovative Approaches for a Circular Economy, (7) Mining Economics and the Circular Economy – Transforming Industry for the Future, (8) Social Responsibility in Geoscience – Bridging Communities, Policy, and Science, (9) Regulations & Legislation – Shaping the Future of Responsible Mining, (10) Post-Mining & Transition – Strategies for Land Reclamation and Reactivation, and (11) GeoScience & Technology: Unveiling the Future of Food Security through Innovation.

MINEYE’s participation underscored its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the future of responsible mining.
