On 22 May 2026, SPACEBEL, MINEYE partner, met at the BF Consult offices in Liège with Ms Jeannette Ndjendje Iniamueni, adviser to Mrs Marie Nyange Ndambo, Minister for the Environment, Sustainable Development and the New Climate Economy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The meeting followed initial discussions held on 21 February 2026 at the AWEX offices in Brussels on possible cooperation opportunities in the DRC in the field of environmental and climate issues, with a particular focus on the sustainable management of land and natural resources.
During the meeting, SPACEBEL presented its Earth Observation (EO) activities, including services dedicated to the management of mines and critical raw materials. In this context, MINEYE was highlighted as a European project addressing environmental challenges related to mining and supporting more sustainable natural resource management through EO-based solutions.
